There is no doubt that Facebook and Instagram are very successful social media platforms. However, the recent researches show that there is another social media option that has surpassed both these applications in the US. Snap Chat has a greater number of users than Facebook and Instagram in the United States.
- People between the ages of 12 and 17 are the key users of Snap Chat in the US. A high percentage of these users use Facebook and Instagram as well. According to recent researches, this is the first time that Snap Chat has more users than Facebook and Instagram in US. Even when the revenue of Facebook has increased by an amazing 48 percent, the user count is lesser.
- Even though Instagram has been taken by Facebook which is a reputed social media platform, Snap Chat continues to dominate the scene. Users who are in between the ages of 12 and 17 seem to have lost interest in Facebook and opted for Snap Chat which is a faster application in comparison.
- Even though Snap Chat seems to have a higher number of users than Facebook and Instagram, there are very few users who restrict themselves to Snap Chat only. Most social media users use both Snap Chat and Facebook. Similarly, there is a comparatively smaller percentage of users who have opted for Snap Chat instead of Facebook.
- This loss on the part of Facebook began in the year 2016. As compared to the year 2016, this count has increased in the year 2017. In 2017, approximately 3.5 percent more of users have stopped using Facebook and started using Snap Chat. Facebook continues to lose users in the age group even after efficient and cost consuming marketing techniques on a global scale.
